Don’t Leave Money on the Table When Selling in This Market

Here’s why it’s so important to work with a market expert if you want top dollar.

This market is still extremely hot, and I recently had a conversation with a seller who asked, “Why do I even need an agent when I can sell my home myself?” That’s a great question, and I have an even better answer. The big problem with not hiring an agent in this seller’s market is that you have no idea how much your house could sell for until you hire someone to help expose it to the whole market.

Terry almost left $115,000 on the table.

I’ll give you an example. We had a client named Terry who we had been working with for over a year to get his home on the market. As we were getting ready to list it, he came to us and said he had found a neighbor who wanted to pay his price and the transaction would be a breeze for us. They offered him $450,000 and he was feeling great about it, but we told him that we could get him more. He trusted us and wanted to test the market.

Well, we ended up contracting the home for $565,000. He would have left $115,000 on the table happily if he hadn’t hired us to help him get the most money possible.
